Writing Paper
Any items you wish to send. (optional)
An 8x10 photo, if you wish a particular one signed. (optional)
Getting It Done:
The Letter. You should write about your admiration for her, congratulations if you have any, and politely request an autograph. The letter should be one page, and if you feel your writing isn't very legible (readable) then you should consider sending a typed letter. Keep it brief. When writing your letter keep in mind that Ms. Winslet receives lots of fan mail and would like to read them. However lengthy messages are likely to not be read. So, be brief. Make sure it is from the heart, and to the point. You may wish to have someone else proof-read it before sending it.
Next you should get it together. Write, or print, your address and attach it to the envelope. If requesting an autograph, make sure it is an envelope that an 8x10 (inch) photograph will fit inside of without folding or bending. If sending the letter in a small envelope you will need to fold the self-addressed envelope to get it inside. Address the envelope to Ms. Winslet with the address listed above, be sure it is legible. Fold your letter and put it in the envelope, along with the self-addressed envelope.
The Post Office. You will need to go to the Post Office to purchase two International Reply Coupons before sending it away. These allow Ms. Winslet to return the mail to you the easiest way possible. Not all post offices carry them, so ask for them by name, and where you can purchase two. Place your IRC's (International Reply Coupons) inside, seal the envelope, and you are ready to mail.
Waiting:
Don't expect the answer tomorrow. Be patient. As you can read below, two months is how long he had to wait. So, don't expect it next week, or even next month. Give her and her assistants time to get the autograph signed and sent back to you. Don't take it personally when it doesn't come back as soon as you hoped. Just keep writing, and you will have some success. (For more info see links.)

Anthony's Advice for Writing
Hello,
Although I've been trying to obtain Kate Winslet's autograph for well over a year now, my most recent attempt *did* succeed and I now possess a personally dedicated signed photo plus a letter from her personal assistant.
What I did:
- Wrote a two page letter with detailed praise for her acting ability and personality, the final paragraph politely requesting an autographed photo.
- Sent that same letter to three different addresses, namely:
*****
Kate Winslet
31/32 Soho Square
London W1V5DF
ENGLAND
Kate Winslet
503 The Chambers
Chelsea Harbour
Lots Road
London
SW10 OXF
UK
Kate Winslet
c/o Jonathan Rutter
McDonald and Rutter
14/15 D'arbly Street
London W1V3FP
ENGLAND
*****
I have no idea which is the correct address, but at least one of these *does* work!
- Enclosed a self-addressed envelope with each letter, plus two International Reply Coupons for return postage.
- Waited two months and received the signed photo (photo is of Rose just before boarding the Titanic), plus the letter from her personal assistant as mentioned above.
Comparing her signature on my photo with those scans found on many other Websites, I am certain that the autograph is authentic.
So, like Kate said in an interview last year, please don't give up, try again until she answers. I found that persistence has indeed been worth my while! :-)
Best of luck to all those who follow some or all the advice presented here. A scan of my autographed photo is available upon request.
Thank-you.
