As you all know, Eternal Sunshine is filming in NYC. I wanted all last week to go looking for the set but it was too damn cold and I was lazy. Well today Kate's trailer is literally right outside my door. Let me start at the beginning...

Today me, my girlfriend Pam (who I'm living with this month), and our friend Katy had plans to go to a museum. Katy got to our apartment and said they're filming a movie right outside. I was like what movie? She said Sunshine something and I immediately flipped out. Then she told us there were trailers parked right outside, one directly opposite the door to the building said "Clementine" (Kate's character, more flipping out from me).

Pam and I frantically finished getting ready, and we saw stuff set up on the street behind the building, which we can see from the window. Then Pam went online to try to print a picture to get Kate to sign and Katy went downstairs to scope things out. A few minutes later she intercommed and told us to come down right now. When we got downstairs she told us Kate had just come out of her trailer and went into a trailer a little down the block (which we later found out is Jim Carrey's trailer - there's a sign on the window opposite it that says "Parking for Pet Detective Only" - hehe).

We had just missed her, so Pam took a picture of me standing in front of Kate's trailer. Then we killed some time by going to the store across the street and just milling around waiting for her to come back out. We saw someone bringing food to the trailers so we decide to go to the pizza place on the corner and watch the trailers from in there while we eat. As we were ordering, Pam and Katy saw Kate poke her head out of Jim's trailer. Then she walked out and towards her trailer so we told the pizza guys we'd be right back and ran out.

By that time she was heading back toward us. I was such a total geek. I said, "Kate," and she was like "Yes" then I just stood there looking at her for what seemed like forever and she was just looking at me and I was thinking "Oh my God I have to say something" so I just blurted out "I'm one of your biggest fans!" and she was kind of like aww and reached out and touched my arm. Then I started rambling. I said something about "we live in 134" and "walked outside and saw your trailer right outside our door" and "saw you from the pizza place" - all manner of stupid things.

Then I finally managed to say "Could I get a picture real quick?" and she was like Sure. So we took the pic, then Pam asked if she could get one too so I took a pic of them. Then Pam asked something about if she knew when the movie was supposed to come out. Kate was just like "Oh no idea." Then she turned to go back in the trailer so we were just said thanks yous and goodbyes.

She looked really cute. Her hair is red now and it was done in braided pigtails. She had on this fuzzy blue sweater, a hat, and big chunky boots. She seemed in a bit of a hurry (limited time for lunch I guess) but she was sweet. Even though I was a total geek. I'll post the pictures as soon as I get them developed.

Oh then after we finished our pizza we went to check out the stuff we saw set up out the window earlier, but they were packing it up. So no watching the filming from our window. But Katy talked to one of the guys working on the movie and he said they'd be here until 10pm tonight. They're filming all around this block. So we're gonna go out in a little while and see if we can watch some of the filming.

I'm on the Lower East Side. We just watched Jim Carrey filming on Orchard St. First he was laying in the middle of the street. Then he was saying, "It's all been wiped away" while walking around the corner. They were doing a bunch of different things. He pretended to get on a bike and ride away down the street. He dragged a rocking chair into the middle of the street and sat in it. He stood on the corner holding a bottle of beer. He threw the rocking chair into the middle of the street and smashed it. The last thing they did was him saying something then all the crew people started yelling, "You're a loser!" so we yelled with them :) I tried to take some pictures of him, but I don't know if they'll come out because they told us not to use a flash. We heard them say where the next location is a few blocks away so we're going to go there in a little bit. I want to see Kate filming.
