[HOLLYWOOD] Though director Jane Campion was unable to attend Tuesday's premiere of Miramax's ``Holy Smoke'' at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills, she had allies praising the film in her absence. Star Kate Winslet called the film ``incredibly bold and brave and confronting in the sense that it deals with things movies on a whole don't deal with.''

Holly Hunter, who hosted the after-party at L'Ermitage said the female lead is ``another one of Jane Campion's warriors -- a woman who feels imprisoned and uses her masterly skills to find a way out.'' Among those on hand to see those masterly skills themselves were Mike Figgis, Saffron Burrows, Bruce Davison, Mimi Rogers, Robert Forster and Martin Landau.
