TITANIC star Kate Winslet and estranged husband Jim Threapleton are selling their £250,000 Cornish lovenest. Kate called in estate agents BEFORE last Monday's announcement that she and 27-year-old film director Jim were separating.
They bought the unusual Japanese-style pole house two years ago and have used it as a romantic hideaway ever since. The three-bedroomed property is a haven of peace and tranquillity set at the bottom of a steeply-sided valley. It is surrounded by high bushes and trees. The second floor of the property, in Angarrack, rests on huge fir poles. Kate was popular with villagers and was often spotted at the local pub.Staff said she would always buy a round. Near the house are surfing beaches, a sport Jim adores. The couple were last there a month ago for the world surfing championships in Newquay. The pair also own a property in Tintagel, a former pump house like their £800,000 main home on an island in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. News of their decision to sell came as the 25-year-old Oscar nominee appeared in public with Jim and 11-month-old baby Mia Rose for the first time since their split was announced.
The couple stood outside Kate's £500,000 flat in Holloway, North London, where she is living. Jim has been there since Friday to look after Mia while Kate was away. Neither would talk about the end of their three-year marriage. The actress said simply: "Everything is OK, and Mia is very happy." Kate also refused to discuss the marriage split of her Enigma co-star Dougray Scott, 35. Dougray has separated from wife Sarah, 37 after 16 months. But his mum Elizabeth denied he and Kate are involved. She said: "The whole thing is rubbish. My son and his wife are speaking to one another. They are discussing their differences with a view to getting back together again. "There is absolutely nothing between my son and Kate." Source: The Sun |
