IT'S little wonder co-stars have branded the British star Kate Wince-let after her latest accident on set. But the actress put on a brave face despite another mishap while filming Romance & Cigarettes.

Winslet, 29, needed crutches as she left a New York restaurant yesterday after meeting the film's director, John Turturro. The star of Titanic had only just recovered from the shock of having to be rescued from a blaze by firemen last week after a stunt went wrong.

HERE’S Kate Winslet hopping to avoid attention as she leaves a New York restaurant on crutches ... and failing miserably.

The Titanic beauty sprained her ankle filming new movie Romance And Cigarettes.

Maybe she took a tumble shooting a scene where she does a flamenco dance in high heels — as we revealed last week.

Sun GP Carol Cooper said: “These injuries are often caused by twisting your ankle or stumbling with the ankle turned in.

“It might be six to ten weeks before she wears heels again.” Kate’s spokesman said she will only need crutches “a few days”.

Mum-of-two Kate, 28, stuck out a tongue when she spotted a photographer. Wonder if she told him to leg it?

Kate Winslet has been forced to use crutches after spraining her ankle.

The Titanic actress got the injury while shooing new movie Romance And Cigarettes.

She is believed to have taken a tumble during a scene where she does a flamenco dance wearing high heels.

The Sun quoted Kate's spokesman as saying she would need the crutches for a few more days.

Winslet, 28, was spotted using them, with her left leg strapped up, as she arrived at a New York restaurant.

The mother-of-two poked her tongue out at waiting photographers - but the gesture appeared to have been good humoured.

Big-screen musical Romance And Cigarettes has been described as Pennies From Heaven meets The Honeymooners.

A two-timing husband must choose between his mistress (Winslet) and his beleaguered wife.
