WINSLET: I DON'T CARE ABOUT LOOKS
January 31, 2003
KATE WINSLET insists she has no concerns over her looks - even though sexy photos of the star in British magazine GQ were digitally altered.
The gorgeous IRIS actress, who created controversy by being 'thinned out' by the men's magazine last month (DEC02), says she is not obsessed with her weight - but does admit slimming down after giving birth despite proudly advocating that larger women should not feel embarrassed.
She says, "I don't give a s*** about the way I look and feel no pressure to look a certain way. I have done nothing to alter my appearance, lose weight, get fit or anything like that. I'm just tearing around after my little girl, MIA.
"I think after having her, metabolically my body changes, and I'm pretty stable at the moment."
And Winslet, who is currently stepping out with AMERICAN BEAUTY director SAM MENDES, hates dressing up for glitzy premieres and award ceremonies.
She says, "I find dressing up an absolute headache and am much happier in jeans and jumpers than beautiful dresses. I don't like having to think about what I'm wearing. But you have to enter into premieres in the spirit of fun, and you might as well enjoy it while it lasts."
