KATE SET FOR GYPSY ROLE
December 6, 2002
Sky News gossip guru Neil Sean brings us the latest showbiz news:
Just over a year ago, Titanic star Kate Winslet enjoyed worldwide success with her debut single What If.
She refused to follow the lead of fellow Hollywood singing stars like J.Lo and turned down a mega-deal for a UK album.
Now, though, all that could be about to change, thanks to her latest man, Hollywood director Sam Mendes.
He is about to produce a new version of the hit musical Gypsy on Broadway.
I hear that Kate is very keen indeed to land the part of Baby June, which involves singing and a cast recording.
A source revealed that Kate has a fantastic voice and this way gets to show off even more of her talents.
