TITANIC star KATE WINSLET videoed every room when buying her new house - so she could play the tape to her absent partner, director SAM MENDES.

The star went around every room of the $3 million (£2 million) London house with her two-year-old daughter MIA making a video to send to her AMERICAN BEAUTY film-maker boyfriend, who was in Los Angeles.

A source says, "Kate was very apologetic to the owners and embarrassed that she had to do it."

The couple also have a $4.5 million (£3 million) mansion in the Cotswolds in the British countryside.
