Kate is award grinner

LADY in black Kate Winslet had plenty to smile about last night as she collected a best actress award at a celebration of British movie success.
She won the accolade for her performances in Iris, Enigma and Quills. Linus Roache was best actor for Pandemonium.
Top movie at the Evening Standard British Film Awards at the Savoy hotel, London, was country-house drama Gosford Park, which stars Kristin Scott Thomas and Helen Mirren. Premier Tony Blair, Pierce Brosnan, Mick Jagger and Ewan McGregor were guests. James Bond Brosnan gave a special achievement gong to horror specialist Christopher Lee, 79, who played 007 villain Scaramanga in The Man With The Golden Gun.
Bridget Jones's Diary won best screenplay and the Peter Sellers award for comedy.
