Actress Patsy Kensit has signed up as a host for an internet radio station aimed at young girls.

Kensit, the former wife of Oasis star Liam Gallagher will be presenting the breakfast show on internet radio station Barbie.fm later this month.

The station - aimed at three to nine years old - was dreamed up by the broadcaster David Freeman's two daughters, and will feature guests including Kate Winslet, Sandi Toksvig and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

"I have never hosted a radio show before and to do so for Barbie.fm and an audience of young girls around the world is fantastic," said Kensit.

Patsy Kensit wants to try her hand at a spot of radio presenting.

Fresh from her third divorce from Oasis wildman Liam Gallagher, she will host an Internet show aimed at young girls.

Station bosses may do well to spare a thought for the kind of example they want to set youngsters. In the past Patsy has not exactly been noted for her good sense - developing from a child actress into a teenager desperate for fame.

At the age of 32 she now has three marriages under her belt and two little boys - one by Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr and one by Gallagher.

Patsy will be presenting the breakfast show on the Internet radio station Barbie.fm later this month.

The station - for youngsters between three and nine years old - was dreamed up by the broadcaster David Freeman's daughters Amy, eight, and Hattie, six, who live in Shipton-on-Cherwell, near Oxford.

Kensit, a former child star, said: "I have never hosted a radio show before and to do so for Barbie.fm and an audience of young girls around the world is fantastic."

In the past the blonde star has been likened to a real-life Barbie doll.

The station goes on air at www.barbie.fm from 8 am on October 24 and will run until October 26.

Other presenters will include former Blue Peter star Janet Ellis while her chart star daughter Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be a guest.

Other guests will include Kate Winslet and Sandi Toksvig.

Kensit has recently tried to show that she is well and truly over her three year marriage to Gallagher.

She has been photographed in her new home and has been talking in the press about her future career plans.
